[Q] Phone with CM restarts in airplane mode topic

Hey guys,
since ~a week I got a heavy-ass problem with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM). I am using the Cyanogenmod Nightly Version cm-11-20150412-NIGHTLY-maguro.zip (bootloader version primemd04; cwm version 6.0.5.1). I know that nightly versions are not really stable and still have a lot of problems, but so far everything didn't went that badly. At least I was able to use the phone...

So last week I put my phone in airplane mode. That was when the disaster started.
Now what happens when I start my phone is, that it starts in airplane mode with wi-fi on and no matter what I do, restarts after ~1min. Sometimes it even shuts down, when starting it in recovery mode.
What I tried so far is:

factory reset ---> most of the time it shuts down halfway done and restarts as if nothing happened.
updating CM ---> restarts as if nothing happened.

I'm really lost right now, but still don't want to give up all hope.
Thanks for every kind of help!!

Cheers,
Lovis

I have the sm-g920i. I used chain fire to root, but have been unable to flash twrp and I have the deep sleep issue. To temporarily resolve it, I was going to flash the original recovery. My question is, can I use any sm-g920i country firmware to extract recovery?

Had a bit of dumb luck earlier today and stumbled upon a fix for the pesky always-on behavior of the T-Mobile capacitive buttons. The fix restores the ability for the capacitive buttons to turn off the backlight while the user interacts with the touch screen. The way it was meant to be.

This post is for visibility and includes a flashable zip for ease of installation and chaining into your zip installs. If you don't mind doing the mod yourself, the steps are in my fix post.

Flash in TWRP and reboot -- no need for a cache wipe
If you modify the file yourself make sure you do a full reboot

Feel free to include this fix in your own work! If anyone notices any funky behavior after applying the fix, let us know.

I got hotspot tethering problem on cm12.1 masterawesome build.
Hotspot tethering unable to start and displaying error.
Is this cm bug? Or devices specifically? There is no problem with hotspot tethering with stock 5.0 rom.

Another problem is about horizontal line flickering on recovery. I read that screen flickering because of bootloader. But i have 41.18, so bootloader must not be the problem.
The flickering only occur on recovery and no problem on rom.

Thanks.

Hello,

Finally with my Samsung galaxy S5 9100F, I pass to lollipop and I choose to use facebook sync contact.

Is it possible now, for each contact to choose what photo i want to display by default? Means google photo or facebook photo.

Idealy, I'd like to :
- choose what photo i want by default? Means google photo or facebook photo.
- if contact doesn't have any google photo (only in that case), to copy/update facebook photo in google photo of contact.

Thanks.

I have been experiencing a series of force closes. I am posting this to see if anyone else has experienced this, and whether anyone can suggest a fix. I'm pretty sure it was something I did, but I'm not sure what. I'm hoping that this can maybe narrow it down.

Device: SM-N900P
Firmware: OC5, stock, rooted, with several tweaks and modifications(detailed below).

The problem: I am getting several force closes. They only occur when I am trying to open certain settings. So, they aren't just popping up at random. They are slightly troubling, but not really problematic. Which is to say, aside from the actual force closes themselves, I don't really seem to be experiencing any major problems. Here are the FC's I am experiencing:

-Menu> Settings> General> Battery: This one results in a "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" dialog box, and an immediate return to my home screen. So, I can't check out my battery usage. I'm not seeing any crazy battery drain. By opening Root Explorer and navigating to data> system> batterystats.bin, and deleting batterystats.bin, the problem is kind of fixed- I can open battery from the settings menu after that. But there is only battery level and state displayed, no usage information(just a message saying it is not available).

-Menu> Settings> General> Developer options> Process Stats: Results in the same dialog box, and the background turns black if I don't press "OK". I'm not even sure what this does, but after my Battery started force closing, I started checking the rest of the settings out.

-Menu> Settings> Connections> Data usage: Dialog box, immediate return to home screen.

The probable cause: hard to say, I've done a few things to it. Like I said, I was hoping that someone would be able to figure out what I've done from the following information about what I have done so far. So, here goes.

I was on NK4, running Priest Punch ROM. I reverted to stock and took the OTA about a week or so ago. I immediately rooted and installed TWRP using the method in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...lipop-t3089382 .

After rooting, I didn't see a whole lot of OC5 development, so I started poking around to see what kinds of mods I could use. First thing I wanted to do was remove bloat. I started off using Root Explorer, then I happened upon this thread featuring a bloatware removal tool for the T-Mobile variant: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...bloat-t2813036 . It worked. I removed a bunch of apps, but nothing I wasn't sure I could safely remove(I had to check Google a few times). I did not notice any problems at this time.

Then I installed this mod to pump sound out of both speakers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...sound-t2966042 . I did not notice any problems at this time.

Next, I decided I wanted more fonts, so uninstalled the preloaded fonts and pushed the apk from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2752379 . Again, no problems.

I decided that a working hotspot would be nice, so I used the method in this thread to get one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...shing-t3048163 . I tested it and it worked. No problems.

I really wanted to silence my shutter sound, and I happened upon this Galaxy S4 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2261789 . It worked, and there were no issues. This was my first exposure to csc codes. I found a similar thread for the s6( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...tures-t3087506 ), and followed the instructions. I was able to enable the camera during calls and enable call recording. No problems here. I tried a keyboard mod from the same thread, which had no effect at all(good or bad), so I reverted the code for that one back.

This is when I think I started to go off the rails a bit. I saw a thread for the Polish variant of the Note 3, N9005. http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...p-5-0-t3067827 -it had a neat sounding mod designed to improve camera quality, remove recording time and snapshot restrictions, and make 60fps HD the default camcorder mode. It took a little trial and error to get it installed, but I was making backups of files I was messing with, and was able to quickly and easily reverse any missteps. Again, the mod works fine, and I have noticed no issues. So, I started looking at the dev's other work. Which led me to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...rging-t3046032 . I wanted some different unlock effects, and I wasn't really finding them, so I tried his mod out. It was a 3 step process: replace a SecSettings app, copy paste some .ogg files, and finally, copy paste a SustemUI .apk. The first two steps went fine, but the third resulted in a persisitent, repetitive dialog box. I forget what this dialog box said, but it popped up almost as soon as I could press "OK", and I had to restore the backup of SystemUI to make it usable again. Oddly enough, about half of the new unlock animations still worked fine, and I wasn't seeing any problems after that, so I left everything else there. I liked the unlock animations, and they didn't seem to be causing any problems after I restored the original systemUi .apk.

Let's see, what else might be relevant? I was using the built-in task killer quite a bit. I'm also using SetCPU. I have 2 profiles: Screen on, 1728 MHz max, 300 MHz min, governor ondemand. And Screen off, 1036 MHz max, 300 MHz min, governor interactive. And I have installed the Material Power Menu from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...tions-t3059169 .

I started to notice the battery FC last bight. So, I wiped the battery stats as outlined above. Noticed it again today, wiped stats again, and kept checking it. After about an hour, it was force closing again. That's when I started poking around and found the others.

I dunno if anything can be done about this, or if anyone might know what's wrong. And, like I said, Aside from these FC's I'm not experiencing any real problems. I'm a little worried that they may get worse, or turn into something more serious, but I can always restore a backup if that happens. But if there is some kind of fix for these issues, I would use it. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this wall of text, and tale of irresponsible phonery.

I'm looking to purchase this phone but i'm turned off by the fact that there are like 9 different models of the phone? Can any of you give me any recommendations/suggestions. I live in Cananada, and I want a fully unlocked phone with 100% warranty from Samsung. I was looking at this one for example : http://www.ncix.com/detail/samsung-g...02696-1281.htm

On their site they have like U, G, H models and such but I don't understand the difference.
what I found :
SM-N910F for Europe
SM-N910K/SM-N910L/SM-N910S for Korea
SM-N910C - Asia, Europe, South America
SM-N910FD - United Arab Emirates
SM-N910FQ - Turkey
SM-N910H - Asia-Pacific
SM-N910G - Singapore, India, Australia
SM-N910U - Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Chile
SM-N910W8 - North America

There's a table I got but I don't understand which to get or if there are any major differences.

I've searched the forums and only found recoveries for Sprint. I'm afraid to do anything with my G900V until I have a backup. I have rooted already but that's about it. I assume I'd have to use SafeStrap because of the locked bootloader, but SafeStrap doesn't seem to install correctly. I do have busybox and SS installed already so that isn't the problem. Any help will be very much appreciated! Thanks.

Alright, need some help here... decided to try a custom ROM for the first time since 5.1 came out. Flashed the newest Blisspop 5.1.1 build (4/30), got everything set up, apps restored, was running great. Using ElementalX kernel. I rebooted and I got the "android is upgrading" screen (did not say which apps were being optimized) and it finished, unlocked, and the phone shut off. Same thing about five times. Decided that I didn't want to mess with it tonight, so I just wiped and restored the Nandroid that I had made before flashing the ROM; the phone just will not turn on. After my sixth attempt nothing at all happens. Just endless bouncy balls. Master resets galore, reflashing kernels, everything. Not really looking forward to loosing all my data and settings for literally nothing. I've gone through the same backup/restore process countless times before and I've never run into this issue. I was thinking it could be an issue cause by going to 5.1.1 and then back down to just 5.1, but that doesn't really make sense to me. Anyone have any tips?

I bought my Note 4 today and I am wondering if there are any actual Lollipop ROMS that are cooked up or not... If I knew how I would customize my own, as of right now I have not even rooted it yet... although I want to. I have looked for them but they are all based on 5.0.1 or whatever... I was wondering if there was anything that was actually a port of it or if that makes a difference at all... I haven't rooted and flashed a phone in over a year and a half.... That is why I am cautious

Thanks for the help

Hello guys,I just got my new note 4 yesterday so I'm new to the game.
However I'm facing some issues with this new baby;
1. The phone gets so warm after just little usage, and by little usage I mean just scrolling here and there for some few minutes, most especially the screen. Is that normal?

2. I noticed all the 8 cores are working at the same time,is that normal too?

3. Just after unplugging from wall adapter, the phone lost 8% under just 25 minutes of On screen time,is that supposed to be so?

Pls I need more Info,I wouldn't want to be disappointed with this beast, thanks.

For a while now my shield seems like it's always draining power excessively, even while shut/sleep.
When I put it on the charger(while on sleep) it often is very warm and the fan is on.
When I take it off the charger the battery icon often shows it's still charging.
Even when I restart the shield it doesn't seem to fix the problem, and continues to run warm. I used to be able to leave the shield on sleep mode for many days with very little power loss, now it seems to be dead in under a day.
*note it does seem to function normally with typical amounts of power from time to time, it can function as tho there is no excessive drain on it.

I'm not rooted.
I'm still on 4.3, and refused to update because at the time the update caused slowdowns/bugs in many of the console emulators. I'm tempted to update or start over from factory settings to see if it will help. Thoughts? Are there still drawbacks form updating to the latest version of Android?

I have one app I am suspicious of possibly being the cause of the massive power drain and heat up, "MapFactor: GPS Navigation". I am positive that when I run this app it sucks down the battery power like crazy, and 99% of the time it wont close properly with out going into the app settings and forcing it to shut down... The weird thing is, is like I said; the power drain issue is often still there even after restarting the shield and not loading up any apps.

Thoughts, Advice? Please and thank you.

Hello,
My Galaxy S6 seems to have trouble with being a storage device, thus not allowing me to sync my files to my phone. I connect it to my phone as a media device, but I keep getting the "this device is currently busy and its contents may not be fully displayed error". I have tried restarting the phone, and plugging the usb cable to a different port. Both have not worked.

Long story short, I had recently installed the cyanogenmod to my phone, don't like it, tried to flash it back to the stock rom and the rom couldn't install. The installation wizard restarted the phone, now it's stuck on the cyanogenmod boot screen and the notification light lit as if im charging the phone, but it's not plugged up. The bad part about all of this is that the battery isn't removable so now I have to wait for phone to die I guess but is my phone now bricked? Once it dies can I recover from this by booting it up thru recovery mode?

Hello guys, I have a weird issue and maybe someone can help me. I have a Z3 compact and every time my girlfriend calls me, the call is muted, she says she can hear me but I don't hear anything, as if the phone is not on a call. She says it only happens when she calls me and funny enough, I receive calls normally from any other number.

I've tried disabling all the call improvements, but the problem persists. I have to hang up and then call her for the phone to work properly. I've done a search here and on Sony's forum and came up with nothing.

She has a Z1c by the way.

As the title suggests, if a phone is listed as FDD-LTE 700MHz compatible, would that imply it'll work on T-Mobile's 700MHz Band 12? I am often confused with this band as it seems there's various other bands within the 700MHz frequency. So there's no positive way of knowing if it supports the band 12. For instance, I've been looking to find a cheap alternative phone (from China mainly) that might have support of LTE 700MHz so I can take advantage of T-Mobile's latest band, but I'm not sure on if it'd work. Couple examples of some phones are here:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Origi...323996202.html

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Origi...297288429.html

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Origi...043526871.html

That's just 3 out of a list of them found on Aliexpress. They all say FDD-LTE 700MHz. My gut is telling me the 700MHz it lists is for some frequency that China uses and wouldn't make a difference if used in the US. Just needed some helpful clarification. Thanks.

Hello Everyone. I have my new Samsung S6 Edge about 3 weeks now. It worked flawlessly the first week and a half but lately I've been getting an intermittent problem with the sensitivity of the touchscreen and it is very annoying. I have to swipe, touch a letter (if texting), or touch an icon, multiple times before it will execute the touch. Sometimes it seems as if it is in slow motion where the execution responds 4 to 5 seconds after the touch. There has not been any new software added and I always close out of any running programs.

I have tried all of the following to which none had any effect:
a) Restarting the phone by using the on/off key dialog box
b) Shutting it down for a couple of minutes and starting it again
c) Using Samsung's method to restart the phone by holding the on/off key and down volume key simultaneously

After a day and a half of frustration I was ready to take it back to my mobile supplier when it all of a sudden starting working properly after checking to see if my phone volume was at the maximum volume by hitting the up volume button. It worked well for about 3 days and then started to do the same thing. So again, I played with the volume down and up buttons until the touchscreen sensitivity worked.

I'm currently having the same issue again which prompted me to post this message. Playing with the up and down volume keys seem to help it at a ratio of about 7 out of 10 times. I've searched the web but haven't found anyone else with the same issues. A look at the Applications Manager under Running apps, System is taking up 1.1 GB, Apps taking up 530 Mb, leaving 0.99 GB of free memory.

Any suggestions? Maybe I should be taking it back for a hardware replacement?
Thanks for listening.

Hey everyone, Hoping this isn't a dumb question, or posted in the wrong section... I'm new to everything Android development (I have always used Android, just never modified it in any way) So everything I know about the subject I have learned today on Google.

I purchased a used AT&T S5 SM-G900A... It had Safestrap installed, but was stuck in a bootloop.

I determined that the best option was to download Odin, and install stock firmware... I followed a write up I found on GalaxyS5Root.com.... However, after the download and reboot it works great, with one rather large exception... It won't connect to mobile data. Everything works when connected to Wi-Fi, but when not connected to Wi-Fi it won't access the internet... It can still do calls/texts though.

The only thing I noticed, was that his write up contained a .zip file for the firmware with 1 file inside which he installed with Odin.. The link to the AT&T firmware contained 4, of which Odin only allowed me to install 1, I chose the largest... I don't know that the other 3 would fix my problem, but it's the only thing I can think of at this point.

Anyways, thank you for any input, and if you need any additional information, let me know

This Method Does Not Disable Write Protection. Please read the following post if you don't know what that means:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=292

1. Check Your Software Version and Enable USB Debugging

Go to Settings -> About Phone and read your Android Version – it should say 5.0. If not, and it says 4.4.4, you are still on 4.4.4 and as long as you have not modified your system by flashing using mofo.exe, you should still be stock and can take the 5.0 OTA.

If you haven’t already, go into Settings -> About Phone and click on Build Number repeatedly until you get the message you are developer now (or something like that). Then hit the back button and you will see that the Developer Options now appear. Click on Developer Options and check USB Debugging.

2. Install Motorola Device Manager (MDM) and Drivers to Your Computer

You can download MDM and the drivers here:

https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ail/a_id/88481

Install MDM on your computer after you download it. MDM should install the drivers.

3. Download Copies of Adb and Fastboot

You can get these from the Adroid SDK but you don’t need the whole Android SDK. Root Junky has the files you need on his site here:

http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Adb%20Fastboot%20Files

I made a folder on my computer named c:\mx2014 and put the zip file in there. Then I unzipped it with 7-zip.

http://www.7-zip.org/

4. Download a Copy of the 5.0 Official Firmware

Root Junky has a copy of the MX2014 official firmware here:

http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Moto...ial%20Firmware

You should download it into a separate folder (I put mine in a folder named c:\mx2014.0) and unzip it so if you have any problems you can flash back to stock. Place a copy of fastboot.exe, adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll in the folder with the 5.0 official firmware.

Also if you are planning on taking the 5.1 OTA when it is released, you would need to flash your system back to stock so it is a good to have it ready.

5. Test the Drivers and Adb

Once you have completed Steps 1-3, you can test the drivers and adb. Power on your phone and after it boots, connect it to your computer via the data cable. Open a command prompt, and then navigate to the directory where you have adb and fastboot by typing:

cd c:\mx2014 (or wherever you have adb and fastboot stored)

and hitting enter. Then type:

adb devices

You should then see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize your computer. Check always allow and click OK. Adb should show you the serial number (not the IMEI) of your device.

Now type:

adb reboot bootloader

to get into bootloader (BL) mode (aka fastboot mode).

6. Test the Drivers and Fastboot

Once you are in BL mode, double check on your phone’s screen that above the first green line you see:

Transfer Mode: USB Connected.

If it does not say that, go to Root Junky’s site and download the Motorola drivers and manually install them.

http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Andr...older=Motorola

Then type:

fastboot devices

and hit enter. Fastboot should return your device’s serial number.

7. Test Getting into Recovery and Wiping Cache

While in BL mode, scroll down to Recovery by pressing the vol dwn button to highlight Recovery. Then select Recovery by pressing vol up. You should see the dead android with a red triangle having an exclamation point in it coming out of its stomach. Then press the pwr button for a couple of seconds and then press and release the vol up button and then release the pwr button to get into the recovery menu. Use the vol dwn button to scroll to wipe cache partition and then press the pwr button to select it. You should see that the cache is being formatted.

When cache is done being wiped, the recovery menu should reappear and you should hit the pwr button to reboot into system.

8. Test That You Know How to Get Into Bootloader Mode Using Buttons

Disconnect your phone from your PC, power down your phone and then hold down vol dwn and then press and hold pwr button. Hold both buttons simultaneously for about 4 seconds and then release both. This should put you in BL mode. Alternatively, you can try pressing vol dwn + vol up + pwr and holding for about 4 seconds then releasing.

Once in BL mode, you can either hit the pwr button to boot back into Android or if you want to test that you know how to flash back to a stock system, complete the instructions in Step 9.

NOTE – flashing the system partition does NOT affect your apps/settings/text messages/call history, which are stored on the data partition, not the system partition. Updates to system apps since 5.0 was rolled out will be lost as well as any system app settings that are relevant to the updates or stored on the system partition.

NOTE – flashing the system partition does NOT affect your stored media (e.g, pictures, music, videos), which are stored on the sdcard partition, not the system partition.

9. Test That You Know How to Flash Stock System (Optional)

While in BL mode you can test that you know how to flash back to a stock system. This is optional but if you have never done it before, it is a good idea to do it IMO. When you flash a system.img, you do not lose your apps/data/texts or your media unless the app is a system app, then you will lose the updates since 5.0 was rolled out (but those can be re-downloaded from the Playstore). However, it is always a good idea to backup before you flash in case you do something wrong. I use SMS Backup and Restore to backup my texts and my photos are backed up to my Google account.

Put your device in BL mode and then connect it to your computer. Open a command prompt and navigate to where you have the stock 5.0 image stored on your computer. Type the following:

fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1

and then hit enter to flash the first sparsechunk. Repeat for the other sparsechunks until you have flashed all 9 of them. Then boot into recovery, wipe cache and boot into system.

10. Purchase MoFo.exe

First you should go to:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/gene...turbo-t3064404

and read all of the information. And be sure to watch Root Junky’s video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXAY...ature=youtu.be

The high level summary of what you will be doing is this:

1. Verifying that your device qualifies for purchasing mofo.exe by using MoVerify;

2. Using the link generated by MoVerify to navigate to where you can purchase mofo.exe; and

3. Purchasing and downloading mofo.exe.

11. Download, UnZip and Flash the Pre-rooted 5.0 Ext4 Image with the Modified Build.Prop File

The OP of the MoFo thread has the link to the pre-rooted 5.0 image with the modified build.prop. You can download it here:

https://mega.co.nz/#!uA9wlKaR!q2Y0j6...nWOO2WcRiGUVS0

Once you download it, unzip it and move the image to wherever you have mofo.exe stored on your computer. Put your device into BL mode and connect it to your PC. Then navigate to where mofo.exe is stored on your computer, click on mofo_gui.bat and a command window will open. Type the following at the command prompt:

mofoe.exe flash XT1096_5.0_22.21.11_rooted.img

then hit enter.

Once the pre-rooted image has been flashed (about 25 minutes), boot into recovery and wipe the cache then boot into system.

It may take a few seconds for the boot animation to start so don’t panic. Once the system has booted, to check that you are rooted, download root checker basic from the Playstore and confirm that you are rooted. Your device will also bypass the subscription check when you turn on WiFi hotspot.

So I'm on 5.0.1 I want to root my device, install a custom recovery so that I can sim unlock the device. Everywhere I read, it's only possible from 4.4.4 and lower. So my question is, how do I downgrade? I know how to get into recovery. I know how to sideload files. I'm all ears right now. Someone show me the way.

xda-developers

I read that a Samsung S5 G900A that took the OTA update could be downgraded and then rooted, yet I can't find that information on this website and don't really trust others. This info was specific to the G900A-OC4, not the G900F or others. Is it possible or not?

After updating my s4 to KitKat, I kept getting Random reboots.

I Installed "Samsung Kitkat SystemServer Crash Fix" as a workaround and happy with it.

My question is if I download 5.0.1, since xposed isn't officially supported with it yet, Has anyone else had the random rebooting issue anymore?

Thanks!

Color Changer adjusts the screen color in all apps. Needs root, of course.

The free version lets you change the screen to red on black or to green on black, as well as to invert the screen (either in regular colors, or in green or red mode). This is nice for maintaining dark adaptation. The free version also includes color blindness support modes (you already have them if you have Lollipop, but they might be useful for colorblind Kitkat users).

You can also have a widget for changing colors and it works with Tasker (press the help button in ColorChanger for help).

The Pro version gives a bunch more pre-set color themes (black and white, amber, sepia, mono sepia, no blue), as well as custom color settings (R/G/B/saturation), and quick color changes via the notification area.

Color Changer may slow down games by about 20% (exactly to the same extent that the stock Lollipop color reverse and colorblindness settings do), but seems compatible with all apps I've tried, with the exception of Chainfire's CF.Lumen (which does similar things but installs a persistent driver; CF.Lumen works faster with games, but for my purposes I prefer ColorChanger's interface).

Color Changer is a successor to my GalacticNight app which did mostly the same thing, but GalacticNight was only for some Galaxy phones and without the custom settings.

A beta test version is here. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. The first five users to send me a bug report will get free copies of the pro version once it goes live. The beta version includes all pro features for 14 days.

Do not turn on the "start on boot" option until you've tested the app thoroughly.

Hi guys, i am learning how to build xposed modules, actually i already built a small module for a few personal things, but now i want to fix a bug i have on my cyanogen. I know cyanogen is open , and i could just download it and compile it , but i want to learn xposed, so it will be a challenge.

Well, i need to replace a method , but looking at the original method there is a line i will need to keep:

Final Set<String> ret = Sets.newHashSet()

where Sets is from 'import com.google.android.collect.Sets;'

Since i do not have this class, how can i make that line to compile ? I think com.google.android.collect.Sets is inside framework.jar, but it appears to be odexed, so eclipse does not recognize if i try to put on build path.

Sorry it the question is too simple, i am still learning =)

Making note and reference...
Apparently the source code has been released for this as well as other devices.

The link to witch led me too it

And the link it contained
http://sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/

Direct link to the source mentioned

I have no idea how to use it. I do have android SDK & java SDK installed on my win 8.1 machine. I'm looking for root, custom recovery and instructions to use this source and validate that it indeed it's the source. Any help it's appreciated.

I'm running 4.4.4 still and had some questions for people running on T-Mobile with band 4.

I've been having some real bad signal issues it seems like the signal just goes away randomly for no reason and when I mean goes away I mean that there a circle with an X that signifies that there is no signal at all. This is getting very annoying because it seems like its happening more and more I haven't changed anything either. I know it's not a dead spot because my wife is right next to me and she has perfect signal with her phone. I'm just trying to see if other members are having the same issues with 4. 4. 4 with nk1. what I've been doing is turning on airplane mode for a second and turning it off and that restores the signal again can anyone help me out and give me some ideas? would it be wise to upgrade to a lollipop? I have a t-mobile note 3 in the mail but I'm not quite sure if I will use that or sell it but with the signal issues I might be keeping it and switching. thank you

Hi...As mentioned,so can i downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.3 without any problem?!

thanks for helping in advance ;)

I've rooted and unlocked my OPO and flashed SlimSaber - absolutely love it. I'd now like to re-lock/unroot my OPO as I need to use my phone as a BYOD at work and the Maas360 MDM application won't install on a root device.

Can I get some guidance on how to accomplish this (if possible at all)?

First, my apologies, as I am sure that this question may have been asked thousands of times already.

My stock, never rooted or modded KFHD 7" is stuck at the Kindle Fire logo (no longer animated, but static). Hard resets have been entirely ineffective. When plugged into any computer with a regular USB cable, even those complete with all Kindle drivers updated, the KFactory is not recognized.

I purchased the factory cable, which put the KF into Fastboot mode. Tried recovering with the KFHD SR tool. Rebooted Kindle, and again - stuck at the logo.

It's not so much the Kindle I'm worried about (I'm due for a new tablet) but the data contained within. My SO used the Kindle to store hundreds of baby pictures of her nieces when she needed more room on her telephone.

I've spent days reading about all of the variously similar situations that KFHD users have found themselves in and the solutions they've used. And I've found nothing that exactly matched my state of affairs.

Could anyone help me? I'm not even adverse to spending a few bucks to save those files.

I'm hoping someone can either tell me "it shouldn't work" or "dude, you're doing it wrong"...

Right now, I'm sitting in Puerto Rico. My wife's VZW iPhone 6 gets data everywhere. My M8 hasn't seen data since we left the US. It prompts me into Global Mode, and I occasionally catch a 3g icon in the notification bar, but I never seem to pick up data anywhere.

Is this likely to be a radio band issue, or am I missing something? APN's?

Hi guys! I had rooted my G s5 about 3 months ago and i was asked if i wanted to update the software by samsung. I ended up updating it and i lost my root, but not only that, my google play services stopped working. My play store says no connection and when i tried adding my other gmail account, it kept saying " couldnt establish a reliable internet conection to the server". I have a good wifi connection and i know i put in the right information to login... Please help me fix this!!! I have fully unrooted the device and it is now stock and running 4.4.2 android version. I havent updated it to lolipop. Would that fix it? Also, my internet connection works because i use it for non gmail related activities. Even after factory restoring it, it still wont work for google services.
