Hey all,
After CM12 became stable, I was eager to try it only to find my In-Call audio mute during Calls. A temporary solution was to reboot. But this only worked for the first 5 mins after the reboot.
After a lot of complaining (to no use, I might add :/ ) and scraping the bottom of the internet, I finally found the cause and a fix for this issue. The fix is permenent though not recommended due to some users reporting wakelocks.
So if you are really annoyed by this issue.. Read on:
WHAT/WHY?
The issue is caused by a bug in the Google Play Services, specifically the CheckInService. This background service activates whenever the device is connected to the Internet (3G/WiFi). This is a serious issue though irregularly occuring.
TEMPORARY FIXES:
This should fix the In-Call audio of your device till Google fixes the CheckInService in Google Play Services.

- Disable 3G/WiFi and Reboot
- Download Disable Service app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...disableservice ) from PlayStore.
- Search for Google Play Services and disable the CheckInService on specifically by unchecking the tick box.
- Reboot
This should fix the In-Call audio of your device till Google fixes the CheckInService in Google Play Services.
