For a while now my shield seems like it's always draining power excessively, even while shut/sleep.
When I put it on the charger(while on sleep) it often is very warm and the fan is on.
When I take it off the charger the battery icon often shows it's still charging.
Even when I restart the shield it doesn't seem to fix the problem, and continues to run warm. I used to be able to leave the shield on sleep mode for many days with very little power loss, now it seems to be dead in under a day.
*note it does seem to function normally with typical amounts of power from time to time, it can function as tho there is no excessive drain on it.
I'm not rooted.
I'm still on 4.3, and refused to update because at the time the update caused slowdowns/bugs in many of the console emulators. I'm tempted to update or start over from factory settings to see if it will help. Thoughts? Are there still drawbacks form updating to the latest version of Android?
I have one app I am suspicious of possibly being the cause of the massive power drain and heat up, "MapFactor: GPS Navigation". I am positive that when I run this app it sucks down the battery power like crazy, and 99% of the time it wont close properly with out going into the app settings and forcing it to shut down... The weird thing is, is like I said; the power drain issue is often still there even after restarting the shield and not loading up any apps.
Thoughts, Advice? Please and thank you.
