[Q] Update file location topic

I just saw an update being D/L'ed but by the time I opened notifications it was done and gone. It caught my eye because the file name was a bunch of random numbers and letters. I have searched for the D/L location but can't find it or the file.
Anyone know where program update files are kept or how to view these files?
